...Paris Hilton

I was not going to comment on her but I decided to. I watched her show, I was one of the few that decided to watch it. I liked it. I have always been a fan of hers because I get it. Though she puts on an act, I have always gotten her. I understand her much better than I have any Kardashian and I know what she could be if she wanted to. Her show was meant to give us a new look into her life, a better view of who she is now and where she is going as a woman. Sadly the show fell short. Her voice overs were a tad too much and they at times made her sound like a snob and rude. I understand that if you grow up around a certain set of people and you were raised a certain way then you cannot help the way you are. Her mother admitted on the show that she was raised to care what others thought of her and she raised her kids to the same way. She realized it was not the best way to live and she changed. This moment was seen on the show, it was a great mother daughter moment. Her mother, Kathy Hilton, is a pillar of strength in the Hilton family. I adore her and many people do. Now back to Paris. One thing that she should do is....drop some of her friends. Pretty much all of her friends, minus Jen, make her look bad. Even if she does not do drugs regularly like Brooke or even if she is not a rude bitch like her friend Allison, they still make her look bad. Why would she choose to bring those friends on her show? People will see how they are and assume that is why Paris acts the way she does. Though they might have been her friends for years, sometimes you just have to start over and keep the good friends and get rid of the old ones. Also during the season I wondered if Paris had ever slept with another girl. A lot of her friends seemed to have so one could assume that she has as well. All in all I think the show did show us a slightly more thoughtful side of her and I do believe the moments were real. However I do not think that reality TV is the world for her anymore. She should become a forceful businesswoman and expand her brand as best as possible. I am still going to give Paris Hilton a Digit Up because at the end of the day I get what she is doing.

...The Kardashians

I thought the day was slow, but here we go. Can you say LAWSUIT? Good. The Kardashian sisters are being sued. The Fresno Bee reports that Revenue Resource Group LLC filed suit in Fresno County Superior Court against Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian. Why? Well remember that shotty, yep that is the word I want to use, debit "kard" that featured their faces and whatnot on them? Well the sisters signed up for it and loved the idea of being paid to push a product. But when everyone read the fine lines and called them out on their "predatory" card they backed out of the project 3 weeks after it launched. The company's lawsuit claims they broke their contract and cost company at least $75 million in losses. Kris and their company, Dash Dolls LLC, are also named in the suit. We all know that Kris is the reader of the family, the reader of anything longer than a standard 5 line text message that is, and she is very money hungry, pawning her daughters off on any athlete with a huge contract and lots of endorsements. Could this be their just desserts? I highly doubt the case will go to court and if it does somehow they may wiggle their way out of it. The most they may receive is a smaller amount to pay. No matter what they have money, but not enough to cover &5 million. A broke Kardashian, possible...very possible, Rob Kardashian. I am giving the Kardashians a Digit Down for not being able to read.

...Kardashian Debt Kard Update

Well it seems as if that too has passed. The Kardashain Kard is no more. The girls were getting a lot of heat for attaching themselves to a card that charges you before you use it.

"Just to buy the card and use it costs $59.95 for six months, or $99.95 for 12 months. That does not include any money on the card. The person buying the card must add money onto it.
The initial feels were just the start. After those six or 12 months are up, it costs $7.95 a month to keep using the card. Users have to pay $1.50 to withdraw cash from an ATM, and $1 to check their balance. Talking to a customer representative on the phone costs $1.50 for each call, and canceling the card costs $6.
Losing the card results in a charge of $9.95. If the loss is reported within two days, then losses are limited to $50. But if the loss or theft is not reported, and the issuer believes the user knew it was lost or stolen, then losses could be as high as $500, according to the terms and conditions on the Kardashian Kard website."

A lawyer for the Kardashians asked that their name and likeness be removed. Apparently thee have worked hard on their images, minus the sex tapes and random acts of stupidity, and they did not want them to be damaged. Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal called the card "predatory" and ordered an investigation. Since the time the card was released earlier this month all financial advisers and consumer agencies warned people not to buy this card. Finally less than a month later the card is gone. This just goes to prove more of my point that the Kardashians are grand opportunist and are all about themselves. Money and fame over anything else. So of course it is not hard for me to give this 2 Digits Down, even if it is dead.

...Kardashian Debit Kard

Well it seems as if the Kardashians are trying to keep America in debt. They launched their new debit card and so far all of the money experts are frowning upon it. Farnoosh Torabi wrote, "According to the card's fine print, the card will run you $99.95 for a year or $59.95 for six months. After that it's $7.95 per month. There are also the typical ATM withdrawal fees. By contrast, a recent Consumers Union survey that looked at 19 prepaid cards found that activation fees tended to start at $3 and reach as high as $40." This is normal, I guess, but the main problem is that the cards will be market towards tweens and teens who, as we know, are GREAT with money...NOT! These cards will become something like a fashion accessory and will be used to buy a lot of junk and the bills will just keep adding up. The spokesperson for MasterCard claimed that this is a good learning tool for teens to gain responsibility with money and it will also help parents monitor their kids spending. I have an even better idea, why not just add your kids to your account(s) and monitor them that way, it is cheaper, possibly even FREE. Again I think this is a typical case of a celebrity cashing in on a product they know nothing about or would not actually use themselves. This just further ties in the theory I have about Kim Kardashian being a very selfish person who just plays a role for the cameras, they all may be that way actually. For a fact they all seem a little too desperate for cash, from the mother down to the daughters. This could end up being a bad idea on their part if things backfire. I am giving this card a Digit Down.

...Reality Television

Yet again Hollywood has decided to recycle some things only this time it is reality television taking the brunt of it. First let us start with another Kardashian show, woo whoo. This one will be called "Kim and Kourtney Take New York City". The show will be about how the two sisters are coming to New York to open another DASH store. Do those stores do that well? Doubt it. This is what Kim blogged, ""I could not be more excited to spend the next couple of months in one of my favorite cities. When we decided to open a new DASH store in the city, Kourt and I felt that someone needed to be here to help out with the store and make sure everything was running smoothly. After talking with my family, I decided that I would join Kourtney, Scott and Mason in NYC." So far it sounds like another E! "hit" but to me it will just be the same show in a new city...yawn.
Next something even worse, Justin Bieber will hosting the new version of Punk'd. ARE YOU SERIOUS! To be honest I was not a fan of the 1st version and now with Justin on bored oh boy
watch me turn my channel faster than Lindsay Lohan turns away from good advice. Is the joke that he is a joke, because I already knew that. Though Ashton Kutcher retired from the show in 2007 MTV always wanted the show to continue. Kutcher will remain as executive producer, more money for him to help pay for that probable divorce from Demi. I see this show getting ratings from tweens and teens who are fans of Bieber, that is the only reason they would want hi to host. His voice, lack their of, is fading due to puberty so why not us his fame to land as many gigs as he can before he hits the bankruptcy courts. I am giving both of these shows a Digit Down because they have been done before both literally and figuratively.
