...2011: Happy New Year!!!
So it is here, the new year, 2011. I am happy and loving it so far. I am even loving some of the new trends for 2011: Pies, Fried Chicken(Not a fan), black pearl nail polish, Lace, honeysuckle. Honeysuckle is the it color for the year people, get ready for it. I can see preppy guys and pretty girls wearing this, especially this Summer. I am getting my body beach ready, even though I am nowhere near a beach, just so that I may be able to dawn a honeysuckle speedo, yummy. Goodbye 2010, hello and good morning to you 2011. I am giving 2011 a Digit Up.
...OWN
Are you ready to get OWNed? Whether you are or are not it is here. The Oprah Winfrey Network has launched and we are going to hear a lot about it, good and bad.
She will have new shows for herself and her friends. She will even have a new reality show to find the next talk show titan, mini titan because Oprah will be in control of it all. I am just going to give this a Digit Up because it could, most likely will, be a major success or just Lifetime.

...Khloe Kardashian
The Bull-Moose one of the sisters is getting a show of her own, with her husband. She and Lamar are getting their own reality show, which will be sort of like the Newlyweds, which worked out very well for Nick and Jessica. I am not a Kardashian fan, of course, and I do not know why they need another show at all, their current ones bore me, but here we go again. Khole is the only sister to keep a man, a man worth keeping, and she pretty much has her stuff together. I am not sure what the show will feature because the sisters are always together! It is like each Kardashian house has its own camera crew and each show just features a different house with a guest appearance from another house. Of course this is how they make their money and this is what they do so until we say boo they will keep forcing it down our throats. I will not be watching anything Kardashian this year. How will I be doing this? Easily, I will just not watch E! of course. I am giving Khole Kardashian a Digit Down for keeping the Kardashians on television evermore.

...Camille Grammer
Camille Grammer...this chick. I am going to be honest, as always. I think I would have felt sorry for Camille and I would have been on her side of this whole divorce thing until I saw her on "the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She speaks of herself as if she is the reason Kelsey Grammer is successful. She thinks she is better than the other women on the show, even if she has not directly said it, and she assumes every woman is jealous of her, chick please! As you may know Kelsey is divorcing Camille after 13 years of marriage. Sadly, for him, he does not have a pre-nup sot hat means his estimated $120 million net worth is up for grabs, at least half. Camille already rejected a $30 million offer because it did not cover child support or alimony. I am shocked she was offered that much. She claims to of have kept Kelsey sober, doubt it. She has 2 kids with him, but she also has 4 nannies and housekeepers, so it is not like she does anything at all. She is/was a trophy wife, and she lived a trophy wife's life. Now the money train is ending and she should get used to it. We all know that she is really just upset that Kelsy left her for a 29 year old and he is already set to marry her. Kelsey has also ordered Camille to stay away from his money. Kelsey want sot marry his new love in January so this must end soon. Will she get the $50 million? Possibly. Does she deserve it? Not at all! Poor Kelsey is trying to get married, again without a pre-nup, and his former dancer current gold digger soon to be ex wife just will not let him go. I am giving Camille Grammer a Digit Down.

...Brett Favre
Another day another Brett Favre story. After almost 3 months of investigation into whether or not Favre did anything wrong in contacting, leaving voicemails and possibly sending pictures to Jets Hostess Jen Sterger during his one year with the Jets, the case is closed. What was the outcome? Favre will not be suspended, but he will be fined, $50,000. Why? Because Favre was deemed uncooperative and not candid during the league's investigation into the incident. While Favre did admit to leaving the voicemails, he denied sending the pictures, and if you say the pictures you would deny them as well. This is most likely Favre's last season playing in the NFL, it saddens me to say it but it is most likely true... Unless there is a lockout and the season is reduced to 9 games and Favre gets a chance to make it to the Super Bowl again because he and his key players are all healthy! JOY! Doubt it. Jen's lawyer said that they were both disappointed with the outcome, of course. I still find it hard to believe that this is the same woman who did not even want to have anything to do with this, but with the help of others, become totally involved in taking Favre down. Whatever. I am giving Favre a Digit Up for getting through this. It tarnished his image for sure and his career went out with a fizzle, but at least he gets to keep the bulk of his $16 million this year.

...John Warhola
Who is John Warhola? Well look at the last name. Now drop the A. John Warhola is the older brother of Pop Artist, and my favorite artist, Andy Warhol. Sadly he died Christmas Eve at the age of 85 after battling pneumonia. He was one of three founding members of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and was its vice president for 20 years. He also helped raise his younger brother Andy. After their father Andrij Warhola died in 1942, John Warhola was tasked with raising his younger brother, Andy, and making sure he attended college. Their father had purchased enough savings bonds to pay for Andy's first two years of college, but told John the rest was up to him. Andrij told John, "Your role is to take care of Andy and make sure he goes to school, because he's going to be successful someday." Obviously he did a great job and the outcome was this magnificent man loved the world over. John's funeral will be held today at the Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church on Pittsburgh's North Side. He will be buried in the family plot at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cemetery in suburban Bethel Park. I am giving this news a Digit Down for sure.
...Reese Witherspoon
Reese Witherspoon is continuing the engagement and wedding train by...well...getting engaged. Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth are engaged. He is a Hollywood agent with the company that represents Reese, but he does not represent her. They started dating in January, after Reese and Jake Gyllenhaal split. He is now dating Taylor Swift and Reese is engaged, so one is happy and the other is still boring. I am sure Ryan Phillippe is happy for her, he is dating other women as well and his career seems to be finally...it is doing something. Now that this star is engaged to an agent I am just wondering when Britney Spears and her agent boyfriend will be getting engaged. I am giving this engagement a Digit Up.

...Florida
My state, my home state, the state I claim and the state I love, what has happened to you? In a new report entitled "Where The $200,000+ Crowd Lives" they listed the top 15 states in America. I read through the little article and I was lie cool I wonder where Florida ranked, top 10 for sure, maybe even top 5...WRONG! Florida did not crack the top 15! New Hampshire, Illinois, Colorado, Virginia and Washington D.C. (Number 1 on the list by the way) made the top 15, but not Florida? Florida has no income tax and has a low corporate tax. Florida has some of the best beaches and best nightlife, these are desirable things! I know that due to the recession a lot of people left Florida and a lot of millionaires who made their money from real estate lost a lot of it but still, this is Florida! I can go to Miami and find 10,000 millionaires, paper and actual, easily. I know there are a lot of New York bankers and brokers who claim Florida as their state of residence for the lower taxes, that matters. I remember when Jupiter Island, Florida was the most expensive zip code in America. Florida needs to regain its luster, its glory, its high net worth lifestyle again and fast. I am giving Florida a Digit Down for going down with the masses.
...Teena Marie
Sad news, Teena Marie has died at the age of 54. She died Sunday, the day after Christmas. She recently battled an addiction to prescription pills. After her friend and former lover Rick James died in 2004. His death shook her so she said she became addicted to Vicodin, which she had been taking for pain, for about a year. Hopefully this was not an overdose. Teena's influence paved the way for other acts such as Joss Stone, Adele, Amy Winehouse, etc. At the time it was semi rare for a White woman to have such a soulful voice. She created wonderful music, most of which was with the legendary Motown label. She will be missed by the music industry for sure. I am giving this death a Digit Down.

...Hugh Hefner
Well well well... It seems like 2 previous failed marriages and lots of failed relationships with many many much younger girlfriends has not stopped this man from popping the question to his soon to be wife Crystal Harris. Hugh Hefner, age 84, is engaged to the Playmate, age 24. Of course she is marrying him for his looks and personality and all that poor people stuff. Hef Tweeted: "After the movie tonight, Crystal & I exchanged gifts. I gave Crystal a ring. A truly memorable Christmas Eve." "When I gave Crystal the ring, she burst into tears. This is the happiest Christmas weekend in memory." "Yes, the ring I gave Crystal is an engagement ring. I didn't mean to make a mystery out of it. A very merry Christmas to all." I love that he Tweets and I refuse to, although he is a celebrity and I am not so it makes more sense that way. I am all for this, why not. he was just going to continue to date her until he got bored and got a new chick, or new chicks. I wonder how Holly is taking this? She did get a show, 2 shows, because of her relationship with Hef, and she did want to marry him... She was almost too desperate to marry him, Hef smelled a digger of the gold I would assume and dropped her. Now she is single in Vegas, sucks... Any who I am giving Hugh Hefner a Digit Up. I have been a fan of his for a long time. He is one of the nicest guys you will ever met and he is really smart, do not judge the book by its cover, or magazine in this case.

...Jim Carrey
Jim Carrey is in trouble and has some explaining to do... He is being blamed for breaking up his daughter's marriage of only one year. A source close to the couple had this to say,
“He ruined Jane and Alex’s relationship with his manipulation and possessiveness. After he broke up with Jenny, Jim had so much time on his hands he focused on Jane and Alex and became an interfering menace. Jim kept popping in at their place unannounced. He monopolized Jane’s time, and started lecturing his son-in-law on how to be a better father and husband. When Alex finally demanded that he back off, it triggered arguments with Jane. Their life together crumbled under the strain. Jim’s a comic genius but a tortured soul. He means well, and he’s devoted to his daughter and grandson. But there are times where Jim can be completely overwhelming. And in the end, her father cost Jane her marriage.”I am a huge Jim Carrey fan since day one and I have followed his career highs and lows, very little lows, and his personal highs and lows and honestly this does sound like it could have happened. Jim has suffered from depression for a long time and I am sure that the break-up,even if it was mutual, still hurt him and instead of sinking into depression he probably poured his time into his daughter and grandson. He sounds manic actually. I have to give Jim a Digit Down because the longterm damage that this could have on his daughter and grandson is major. Sometimes you just have to leave it alone Jim. Jane, sometimes you just have to tell your father to go home...

...MTV
MTV may have dropped the music from its lineup, but the ratings did not follow. The ratings are actually up this year. Not since 1999 have the ratings jumped to much. The show leading the ratings surge, of course, is Jersey Shore. Teen Mom also helped. With these reality shows helping bring MTV back from obscurity you know that there are more to come. Some thought that when the hit show "The Hills" went off the air that MTV would possibly be in a ditch for a while, they were wrong. Along with their reality shows bringing in ratings, even the VMAs were up this year. I am sure people wanted to see what Lady Gaga would wear and who Kanye West would interrupt. Meat dress and no one. All in all this is good news for the viewers, bad news for the music lovers. Although if you really love music you stopped watching MTV in 1992. MTV gets a Digit Up.

...Mike Adams, Dan Herron, DeVier Posey, Terrelle Pryor and Solomon Thomas
Mike Adams, Dan Herron, DeVier Posey, Terrelle Pryor and Solomon Thomas are all members of the Ohio State Buckeyes football team, college. These guys were found guilty of rules violations according to the NCAA. What did they do? Get free tattoos in exchange for autographs as well as selling some memorabilia for cash for their families. Now they will be punished. Although they have a game coming up soon, the Sugar Bowl against Arkansas, they will still be able to play that game, but they will have to sit out the 1st 5 games of the 2011 season! I find tattoos crass and Pyror alone has enough for the whole team so to think he was getting more makes me ugh. He and others got caught giving away autographs for tattoos! It makes you wonder if they have a problem. if you cannot afford them, do not get them, and even if you can, think it over for a decade. Beyond that they also sol d items such as trophies and awards that they thought they owned but apparently the schooled owned them, odd I know. They wanted the money so that they could give it to their families, awww. But now they will be out of the 1st 5 games, some of them hoping that 2011 would be their best season, their BCS Bowl season. Apparently one of the members has even started his paperwork for the NFL draft, but the coach would not say. Here is a list of the guys and what they actually did.
• Adams must repay $1,000 for selling his 2008 Big Ten championship ring.
• Herron must repay $1,150 for selling his football jersey, pants and shoes for $1,000 and receiving discounted services worth $150.
• Posey must repay $1,250 for selling his 2008 Big Ten championship ring for $1,200 and receiving discounted services worth $50.
• Pryor must repay $2,500 for selling his 2008 Big Ten championship ring, a 2009 Fiesta Bowl sportsmanship award and his 2008 Gold Pants, a gift from the university.
• Solomon must repay $1,505 for selling his 2008 Big Ten championship ring for $1,000, his 2008 Gold Pants for $350 and receiving discounted services worth $155.
• Jordan Whiting must sit out the first game next year and pay $150 to a charity for the value of services that were discounted because of his status as a student-athlete.
The NCAA is a tad harsh sometimes, and this could be one of those times. 5 games in the NCAA is a major deal. If you lose 1 game you just lost you shot at the title. I know the seniors are going to be pissed, but what can they do? I look at this and think, Cam Newton was not the dirty quarterback....it was Terrelle Pryor the whole time! I am sure that these guys made a few honest mistakes but it has cost the whole team a title, we all just know this. I am giving them all a Digit Down.

...Landon Donovan
Months ago I was confused over whether or not U.S. soccer star Landon Donovan was divorced or not. Well my confusion has been set straight. He officially filed for Divorce Tuesday. I will assume he is a little pissed that his soon to be ex Bianca Kajlich did not take him back because he is asking for spousal support and that his attorney fees be paid. Although they have been separated since October 31st 2009, Halloween, Landon seemed as if he really wanted things to work out. I am not totally sure how much Bianca earns, but I do not think she will have to pay Landon anything, at most just his attorney fees, if that. I am giving him a Digit Down for asking for spousal support. I understand he is hurt and probably a little embarrassed, but you get over it and move on.
...Isabella and Connor Cruise
In a recent interview Nicole Kidman talked about her 2 year old daughter, and for once she talked bout her other 2 children Isabella and Connor, the kids she adopted while with Tom Cruise. She said the kids, now 15 and 18, chose to live with Tom. She said, "I'd love them to live with us, but what can you do?" Sad. I am sure she would love to spend more time with them. Does she not have enough money for them? Are they too into Scientology to leave Tom's side? Maybe they just blame her for the divorce, that is probably it. She did go on to say that Tom is a great father and she is not worried about their well-being, so that is good. But Isabella and Connor, spend time with your mother!!! Until you do I am giving you both a Digit Down.

Google bought a New York City block, massive and major. The building is the 111 Eighth Ave. in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. Google already was a tenant in the building, but that was not good enough. They now own this 2.95 million square foot building that cost a firm $1.8 billion dollars. How did Google pay for it? With cash of course. Earlier this tear Apple bought an acre of land for $1.7 million to expand their current iTunes facility in North Carolina. The land was purchased for $6000 four years ago. That was crazy, this Google buy is smart. The building was originally developed as the headquarters of the Port Authority of New York and occupies an entire square block between Eighth and Ninth avenues and 15th and 16th Streets. It is the second largest building in New York City. I would do the same thing, but I would turn it into one massive mansion for myself, just myself. But anyway I am giving Google a Digit Up because this is just awesome.

...Shania Twain
Shania Twain is writing her next album without leaving her home. She divorced her ex-husband earlier this year after he left her for another women, her bestfriend. Here is the country twist. Now Shania is engaged to her former bestfriend's ex-husband Frederic Thiebaud. Are we all caught up now? This news is of course good news. People close to her are saying that they have never seen her happier, of course they have not... This is also good news because next year Shania is set to premiere her reality show on OWN, which is Oprah's new network, and she has an autobiography coming out as well. Although this is a tad odd, I guess it is still all good news. I mean maybe her and her ex could have just swapped partners for a month or so and see what became of that, maybe they would still be together, just not sexually. Of course I would not approve of that, but I am like eh approving of this engagement. It has been about 2 years since they have separated so they are all far game. I am giving Shiani Twain a Digit Up.

...Tony Romo
I have finally made it around to it. Tony Romo is engaged to 24-year-old sports reporter Candice Crawford, sister of actor Chace Crawford of Gossip Girl fame. He proposed to her on her birthday as well. This is funny because on Jessica Simpson's birthday, possibly his most famous ex girlfriend, he broke up with her, after she bought him a $30,000 boat for his birthday. All is well though. Jessica is engaged and her ex husband is engaged as well. Not much tot say about this really. I could say that while Jessica was blamed for the Cowboy's troubles when they started losing, no one has blamed this chick for him being out for the rest of the season with an injury. Anyway I will give Romo a Digit Up for getting engaged... That is all I have actually.

...Congress
Wow Congress, House and Senate, actually passed something that did not fully directly benefit them for the first time in a long time. Don't Ask, Don't Tell was repealed and it will be singed into law by President Obama soon, very soon. It is a win for the Democrats mainly, since this is something that Obama wanted removed and a lot of Republicans did not want to talk about it. I really do not care really, it is gone and that is all that really matters. After 17 years and thousands, 13,500 to be exact, of gay and lesbian service members discharged the ban has been lifted. I do wonder now if those discharged members will be pardoned or be allowed to receive benefits that their other service members receive, it is not totally fair that they were dismissed. Actually after reading that I thin they are just out of luck, like when an old law gets dismissed, it may have been unfair at the time, but it was the law and you just have to live with it. Maybe if they ask for a pardon... That is too much to think about now. Everyone willing to serve should be allowed, gay, straight, bi, other. Now America will join the other 25 countries that allow gays to openly serve in their armed services. I must say though that just because gays are now allowed to be open, that does not mean their has to be a parade to show your ride, just celebrate and carry on :-) The President now has to deal with gay marriage, the gays will be after him on that one pretty hard. He has 2 years to dodge it, 6 if he is lucky.
Congress is getting a Digit Up tonight for doing something right, finally.

...Barbara Picower
Who is Barbara Picower? The wife of the late Jeffry Picower, who died October of 2009 after drowning in his pool at home. Why do these people matter? Well Mr. Picower received $7.2 billion from Bernard L. Madoff and his ponzi scheme that milked $65 billion from thousands of people. Jeffery had been sued by people claiming he was apart of the scheme and was just as responsible as Bernard, but he died before anything could be proven. His wife Barbra agreed to turn over the money to the victims. The victims are seeking $50 billion, and with this new amount added to the pot to date the total collected stands at $9.8 billion. Barbra had this to say,“I am absolutely confident that my husband Jeffry was in no way complicit in Madoff’s fraud. The Madoff Ponzi scheme was deplorable, and I am deeply saddened by the tragic impact it continues to have on the lives of its victims. It is my hope that this settlement will ease that suffering.” I am not sure if she or her husband had anything to do with the scheme. Many do believe that her husband knew about it and blackmailed Bernard into giving him such a large sum of money to shut him up. Either way this is a great deed and I can say that I probably would not have done what she has done. To me if they cannot prove it, then I am all right. Although if it would have kept me out of jail then they could have taken the money. I am giving Barbra Picower a Digit Up for being so kind.

...Larry King
Larry King ended his show "Larry King Live" after 25 years on the air. He did so with a slew of guest; Barbra Walters, Ryan Seacrest, Dr. Phil, Bill Clinton, Tony Bennett, etc. Speaking of Bill Clinton he had an unexpected funny moment with him. He said that he and Bill were apart of the zipper club, talking about their open heart surgeries, and both chuckled. Then I guess one of the producers wanted him to explain it, so he did and that is when Bill chimed in and said that he was glad Larry explained that to everyone. At 1st no one got what Bill was hinting at and then about 6 seconds later there was a laughter like oh you slick Willy. His wife and 2 sons joined him as well. His son and Fred Armisen did a great impression of Larry and everyone enjoyed that as well. All in all it was good. I still cannot believe he is leaving, actually I can. I believe he was forced to retire after a mixture of low ratings and a few missteps on the show. He will still be doing a few specials here and there like Barbra Walters so we will not have to forget about him fully. I am giving Larry King a Digit Up for going out the way he wanted to and pretty much on his own terms.
