...FHM

If you do not know who Andrej Pejic is then you do not know high fashion. He is as androgynous as they come and he is being booked by designers and photogs left and right. Unfortunately or fortunately he is beign booked to wear women's clothing. He is gay and flamboyant so I am sure he does not mind at all. Recently he was censored by Barnes and Noble and now he has been voted the 98th sexiest woman in the world, by FHM magazine, beating out Lady Gaga and Izabel Goulart. This does not come without controversy, of course. On their website an article about Andrej said this:

"Although his sexual identity is ambiguous, designers are hailing him as the next big thing. We think ‘thing’ is quite accurate. Tall, skinny, and flat-chested, Andrej is considered in couture circles as the “perfect coat-hanger” for high fashion garments, moving the industry on from hot girls who look dangerously boyish to just boys who look like girls. Having managed to get away with it in campaigns for Marc Jacobs and Jean Paul Gaultier, the blonde gender-bender has jumped the gun in hoping he might one day be signed as a Victoria’s Secret Model (Pass the sick bucket). Well, he might have a hard time keeping it a secret then. More troubling is the fact that Andrej is not the only one when it comes to supermodels that are not all they seem. The current face of Givenchy and "lady" locking lips with Kate moss on the cover of Love magazine is transgender model Lea T. who began life as Leandro. One fashion trend we won't be following."

Some wonder why FHM even bothered to put him on this list to begin with, I would be one of those. The article was later removed from the site and an apology was issued, but the damage is already done. I do have to say I can see both sides though. My final thoughts are why was he on the list? No matter feminine a man may look, he is still a man. If he had gotten a sex change then I would understand. What is next, men competing in Miss Universe pageants? Doubt it ever. I think that once you become a public figure(actor, singer, politician, model, etc) you are open to both negative and positive criticism. He is probably use to this anyway. I am sure FHM will face some backlash over what they said and for putting him on the list. I am giving FHM a Digit Down for putting him on the list, not for what they said. It is a men's magazine and a lot of their readers are going to be severely turned off by this.
